Can You Really Escape Favoritism in Everyday Life?

Now, this one is extremely very close to my heart for a variety of reasons…

What I am going to talk about is NOT something new at all. It has been present all around us since the beginning of time. Yes, you got this right. It is a very common topic of discussion these days. Some call it Nepotism, some call it favoritism etc.

Lets talk about a latest incident which I am sure most of you would be aware of. Yes, I am talking about suicide of a very handsome, talented, down to earth and self made actor Sushant Singh Rajput. I am not writing it because I am his fan or I knew him or something. However, I think there are some incidents that happen in our lifetime which really shake us and make us think about a few things. We really feel them with all our heart.

The hypothesis around his death is that he committed suicide due to depression. He was an extremely talented boy coming from a humble family background who managed to score 7th Rank in AIEEE and got admission in DCE. Trust me, coming from an almost engineer and someone who has experienced depression in a big way in life, it is a big thing. Leaving that behind to pursue his dream of happiness, money and recognition, he joined acting and finally in a short period of time, he became a very successful actor who had everything someone could ask for. Money, women attention, cars, bikes as much as a plot on moon that too at an early age of 34.

What I can not trust is all this happy and wonderful life had a depressed heart hidden behind such a lovely smile. Being thrown out of 6 of his movies without a fault of his own just because someone wanted to favor his friends or relatives can throw anyone in a bad mood and may be depression as well. However, this is definitely not a good reason to believe in.

I have personally been a huge disaster in my personal and professional life and have done too many experiments in it already. Some worked, some screwed me, put me in trouble but one thing I am extremely sure of is..it broke me for sometime, got me depressed as well, got some really nasty ideas in my mind as well but I never had guts to take such an extreme step. As far as I know, someone so intelligent, successful, humble and sensible needs to be pushed really really hard to an extent that he takes such a step.

I don’t know why this incident shook me so much but when I look back and think about it, some hazy memories come up again which made me realize that favoritism is not new and is not just limited to Bollywood. It is as evident as air around us. People in corporate life, business, family, it is everywhere. Everyone has their favorite people in their lives who they want to grow and be successful. There is nothing wrong with it. What is wrong is, to save your favorite people, you should not be throwing someone in a well or get them killed. Lobbying is so evident in every industry that we have accepted it and have made peace with it. In this process, the average or below average people end up making it to the top leaving the talented people behind. The pain it leaves the latter with is beyond imagination. It shatters the person from within.

Bad Karma Quotes

The thought i want to leave you all with is….

We all are struggling in life in our our games and are trying to make it big. Let us not allow the arrogance of success get to our heads. The struggle for the self made ones is further more, lets not add to that. With experience I can say one thing for sure..KARMA NEVER FORGETS. Everything has to be paid here in this world only.
