STRETCH MARKS

Steroids are known to drastically increase the build-up of muscles. But the problem occurs because body is not ready for such sudden evolution. In the normal workout in Gym routine, the body gradually gains muscle and is aware of the process. But in case of steroids it is opposite, and so the skin stretches apart. The marks are sometimes permanent.

BODY ACNE

Body acne is the most visible sign. And can be seen from a distance too. Usually the acne occurs on face and neck area, but steroids mess with the body’s hormonal system and hence makes acne occur on areas where they are not supposed to.

DISPROPORTIONATE BODY

Some people may have disproportionate body because of their genes. And this is not a definite sign of steroid use but this is a possibility. When people use steroids, the torso grows faster than the lower body making the person look uneven and out of proportion.

GYNECOMASTIA

In case of Gynecomastia, if the person is male, he starts growing nipples like women. The otherwise hard nippular area starts turning soft and soggy. You must know that the male body naturally contains a little estrogen. But in case of Gynecomastia, the estrogen levels rise and make a man’s nipples look like female nipples.

ENLARGED JAW

Males do have a naturally wider jaw than females. But, with steroid use, their jaws start growing again, and get wider due to Hormone changes. Hence change in face shape is also a good sign to check out to spot steroid use. You can easily Notice a change in someone’s face. And jaw lines are easily noticeable.

FLUSHED SKIN

Steroids tend to increase body temperature and blood pressure. This affects the skin in a way that it turns red, due to sudden increase in blood running through veins. The skin will appear as if it has been exposed to sun or is developing rashes. This is a visible sign of steroid use
