Prateek Kuhad : Songs To Refuel Your Soul

 

“Apne naseeb ka me Badshah nahi, Tu meri sham hai, Tu hi meri subah…. tune Kaha mene sunn Liya “ if you haven’t listened to this song, then you’re probably living under a rock! This beautiful song called Tune Kaha is one of the best songs by Pratik Kuhad.

 

 

Prateek Kuhad was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He learned to play the guitar at the age of 16 and started songwriting in his late teens. He finished his high school from Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur. Later, He studied Maths and Economics at New York University before moving to Delhi to pursue a full-time career in music.

He released his first song called Something Wrong in 2011. It is a beautiful love song. A very sweet and soulful acoustic music accompanied with beautiful lyrics. Since then there has been no looking back. He released two more songs called Rubber Bits and A Shot of Alcohol in the same year.

Initially he wrote and sang in English only, but later on, he also wrote Hindi songs and they are equally lovely. His debut in Bollywood as a playback singer was in 2016 with the song Kho Gaye Hum Kaha from the movie Baar Baar Dekho.

Prateek won the Indian Indie Album of the Year 2015 by iTunes and Spotify: Top Indian Indie Hits, the Best India Act at the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards, and bagged the first place in the 2016 International Songwriting Competition. He also signed a publishing deal with LA-based company Cutcraft Music. In 2018 he won the Best Pop Artist Award at the Radio City Freedom Awards.

It’s a shame that we do not let young and talented people like Prateek Kuhad come into the mainstream and be celebrated like Bollywood artists. Many of you may know him. But many wouldn’t recognize him, despite the fact that he’s been creating beautiful songs for the past 6 years.
