Sushant’s last Movie Gets HOTSTAR CRASHING

Its been more than a month and we are still not done with the untimely and suspicious death of Sushant Singh Rajput. What a remarkable actor with such amazing personality and a vibrant smile on the face always. I am still not able to digest the news that it was a suicide.

Yesterday marked the launch of his last movie “Dil Bechara” on India’s largest OTT platform Disney Hotstar. The world was waiting for this movie. We all were eager to see our star for one last time in a movie. The time was 7.30 PM and by 7.32 PM, you could see the movie on the instagram stories, whatsapp status of his fans, his colleagues and famous Bollywood actors. Hotstar website CRASHED within the first 2 hours of movie release. It was all over the internet and I am no different 🙂

Dil bechara movie with SSR

The movie is ~90 minutes but conveys the message pretty well. SSR plays the role of Immanuel Rajkumar Junior Aka Manny, our lead character. He is a 23 yrs old jovial young man. Manny hides the fact that he is suffering from cancer. And he spends his time spreading smiles. He is so energetic and fun at all times. He meets his co-star Sanjana Singhi Aka Kizie Basu who too is a cancer patient leading a very boring life with her oxygen cylinder named Pushpinder as her only companion along with her parents.

Manny meets her and its magic from the very first meeting. He helps her living life happily, adds colors to her boring life and helping her accomplish her dream of meeting with her favorite musician and asking him why he did not complete a song she liked the most. Even though it was a cameo for a few seconds, however Saif Ali Khan does the job right. Few selective dialogues but deep enough to touch your heart.

At the end, Manny ends up doing what a person full of life does the best. He leaves us all in this world with his fond memories. Manny gets Kizie’s dream song completed with the help of AV (Saif Ali Khan). It leaves a long smile on her face for life.

His last words –

“Janam kab lena hai aur marna kab hai yeh hum decide nehi kar sakte, lekin kaise jeena hai woh toh hum decide kar sakte hai”. “We don’t get to decide when to be born and when to die. But what we can decide is how to live our lives.”. The heartbreaking dialogue is based on the famous line from Green’s book.

The last scene leaves us heartbroken, in tears. But we are glad Sushant Singh Rajput left a memory that will last for a lifetime. I don’t think there is anyone who did not cry while watching the movie. We wish his soul peace and his family strength in coping up with such a huge loss.
