Healthy habits can make 9 to 6 better, Here’s How

We spend a minimum of 10-12 hours in front of our laptops trying to earn our bread and butter. That is the primary reason for feeling sore after a long day. The fast pace and edge competition environment have drastically impacted our lifestyles and our healthy habits. Sitting stuck to our seats with bare minimal movements, eyes glued to the screen, studies show a natural increase in the complaint of health issues like intolerable neck pain and spondylitis, backache, eye problems.

At this point, a few healthy habits are recommended for a better living.

Here is a list of a few small yet simple changes you can incorporate in your daily life. These changes will help you to achieve not just the mythical concept of Work-Life Balance. Also, cashing in extra, on that Health Is Wealth:

  • While walking to work or coming back from work ensure to add a minimum time, walking activity in the process
  • When you are at work, try to use the stairs as much as possible avoiding the elevator
  • Make sure your desk is at an appropriate height, and you are able to sit comfortably.
  • Make sure what you eat at work and when you eat at work is all monitored, don’t let yourself get lured into ordering that pizza to beat the Monday blues or binge on chips offered by a kind yet not so kind colleague. All those calories adding up work totally against your stationary body.
  • Keep a check on your posture, sit upright and erect instead of slouching for comfort.
  • After working for nearly 45 minutes to an hour, take a quick break to stretch your back, exercise your neck and legs before hitting back on that grind
  • Always keep on your table, some snacks like fruits, dry fruits, and light munchies and make sure you eat something every two hours.
  • Water! We can’t stress enough about the benefits of drinking water regularly. Keep a bottle of water right next to you and make targets on liters each day within the stipulated time frame.
  • Exercise, if and when possible. Squats or plank or push-ups are space-friendly exercises that can be done for 15 minutes daily. This can reap a lot of benefits in the longer run.
