How To Start Your Day The Right Way

Imagine you get up late someday and do not charge your mobile phone and laptop and leave for work in a hurry. What is the first thing always on top of your head for the rest of the day? You are always worried about charging your mobile phone and would be looking for a charging point everywhere and by the time you come back home in evening, your mobile is either dead or is at the verge of dying.

What if something similar happens to you to your body or mind? You leave for work without charging it enough and do not charge it at regular intervals throughout the day whenever you get time. By the time, you are back home to your family or children, you are either irritated or your energy levels are drenched. Do you want such life for yourself or you want to make some changes to make it better?

Current lifestyle is extremely hectic for all of us hence it becomes extra important to pay enough time and attention to ourselves to stay fit, healthy and happy. Let us share with you a secret formula that has worked for me and I personally believe that it can help everyone to stay happy, positive and energetic throughout the day and also return home with a smile after work and build an environment of happiness and well being in your family.

1. Charge your Body : Exercise

You need your body and mind for the next 18-20 hours before you go to bed again hence it better be charged properly and if needed, you can charge it whenever you get time during the day. The best way to do it is by exercising 30-40 minutes in the morning when you wake up and are done with your daily routine. It can be running, cycling, gymming, Yoga or anything. This 40 minutes of your day will keep a lot of diseases away from you and will help you build a healthy lifestyle that will keep your mind also healthy. You will stay active, smiling and productive all through the day and people will love you wherever you go.

2. Charge your Mind : Meditation

The way your body is important to work all day, your mind also works for equal number of hours and sometimes even more (sometimes your mind also works while sleeping). Hence, taking care of your mind is equally important if not more. The best way to do that is to keep it focussed and keeping it calm. A 20 minute meditation in morning after your workout is a great way to charge your mind and keep it in action all day with positivity.

3. Create Your To-Do List For The Next Day, A Night Before

Since the heading is self explanatory and we also know how it helps us the next day. Spending a few extra minutes on each thing you are working on currently and putting them in order of priority for the next day will never let you miss out on any important thing at work or at home. Before going to bed, you have enough time to think which you may or may not have the next day at work. Not everything in life or work is important, the sooner you decide your priorities, the better your life can become.

4. Self Reflection : 10-15 Minutes

Once your to-do list is ready for the next day, next thing to do is to sit in silence with yourself for 10-15 minutes and do a recap of the entire day, focus on main events and your responses to them. Pay attention to detail and think if the way you responded to the situation currently is how you wanted to handle it or not. If not, how can you ensure you react to the same situation in a different manner next time it appears. It is also a good time to pen down new habits you might want to develop or drop a few of the current ones.

5.The Last Thing Before Sleeping : Meditation For 20 Mins

According to various studies, we have recently realised that it is the quality of sleep which is more important than the numbers of hours you are on bed. Meditation is the best tool which helps you enhance the quality of your sleep and it makes you feel fresh and energetic to take on the challenges that the world offers you the next day. A guided meditation of 20 minutes (sessions are available on Youtube or there are multiple apps available these days) can help you calm your mind and let you have a sound sleep.

A healthy mind and a healthy body both are required to have a great life. If we are compromising on any of these, life can not be fulfilling.
