According to Wikipedia MGTOW is an anti-feminist, mostly online community suggesting men to separate themselves from a society which they see as harmful to men and particularly to avoid heterosexual marriage and having sex.
Apparently, this movement, however, sounds total gibberish, has some unofficial hierarchy within the community:
The Five Levels Of MGTOW:
1. Embrace the idea that gender equality is a lie.
2. Reject all long-term relationships.
3. Reject all short-term relationships and stop having sex.
4. Only interact with wider society where you have to.
5. Separate completely from society.
The anonymous MGTOW message board on Reddit has over 60,000 very serious male subscribers. While thousands more belong to similar forums elsewhere on the web, including mgtow.com.
MGTOW believes that modern women have been ‘brainwashed’ by feminism to believe ‘they are right no matter what’. When women do decide to settle for a man, he will be a passive ‘beta-type’ whom she will boss around and target for his ‘utility value’—financial assets and stability.
But these men, just like some women have not been able to understand the term feminism. And this term has been slain by both men and women. Feminism can be defined as the fact that women are equally capable of men, and should be given equal opportunities. Feminism is positive and aims towards improving women’s life by demanding rights and security. This bunch of men look like they are together to just hate women, quite similar to pseudo feminists who hate men without any regards. And both these groups are wrong.
Well, these men aren’t completely wrong if you ask me.
The AMITY Incident
On August 28, the two students were about to enter the university in their i20 car around 2.30 pm when they allegedly found a Ford Endeavour oddly parked at the gate, blocking their way. They requested the security guards at the gate to ask the girls sitting in the SUV to remove their car and make way. However, the car remained in its position and both the parties got into an argument.
The two boys claim then they went inside the university without any further arguments. An hour later, the two girls allegedly came back to the university and entered the classroom of Harsh and Madhav along with 25 men.
The group started beating up Harsh and Madhav inside the classroom in which several students and teachers were left injured.
So, things like these surely hurt the sentiments of men. Both these men and girls who falsely accuse men have no idea about feminism and what it is about. Just blindly putting something in fire is not very moral.
Feminism was created to break Patriarchy. and to bring equality to society. However, the MGTOW sounds regressive. And it is not a positive movement like Feminism.
MGTOWs define feminists as “social justice warriors”, and see the LGBT rights movement and support for safe spaces as obstacles to male self-ownership. This group is going to take society back to the dark ages. Leah Morrigan states that the MGTOW.com founder Sandman claims that women are all “manipulative whores and liars” whom Sandman “slut-shames, fat-shames, and age-shames”.
MGTOW is toxic and regressive, unlike feminism.
